Guest Speakers
We’re excited to host an outstanding lineup of guest speakers:
Meryl Mallery: Meryl Mallery is an accomplished engineering executive with a career spanning
aerospace innovation and clean energy transformation. With a strong foundation in
designing, validating, and manufacturing complex hardware and software systems, she
has led multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance solutions in both highly
regulated aerospace environments and rapidly evolving renewable energy markets.
Currently serving as Executive Vice President at XL Batteries, Meryl drives the
development of advanced energy storage technologies, guiding projects from concept
through commercialization. Her leadership style emphasizes mentorship, fostering the
growth of emerging engineers and cultivating collaborative, high-performing teams.
Earlier in her career, Meryl contributed to groundbreaking aerospace programs at EBAD
Aerospace and Defense including Orion, and the James Webb Space Telescope. Her
transition into clean energy at Plug Power reflects her commitment to sustainability and
innovation, leveraging her technical acumen to accelerate the adoption of greener
technologies.
Meryl holds a bachelor’s degrees in mechanical and aeronautical engineering and a
master’s degree in mechanical engineering, equipping her with the technical depth and
strategic vision to bridge engineering excellence with environmental responsibility. She
is a passionate advocate for diversity in STEM and an active mentor to the next
generation of innovators.Todd MacFadden: Todd MacFadden is Senior Technology Development Engineer at Bose, where he has worked for 21 years. He supports evaluation and adoption of new microelectronic technologies for wearable products and leads technical evaluations of competitor products. Prior to Bose, he worked for 10 years with non-profit environmental organizations to promote sustainability. He has a master’s in chemical engineering from UMass Lowell, and bachelor’s degrees in political science and music from the University of Colorado Boulder. Away from his laptop, he loves photography, classical music, bicycling and running.
