About Event

Esade Center for Social Impact and Esade Careers are back with the second session in our Esade Impact Talk series, spotlighting the ideas, people, and approaches pushing the impact ecosystem forward.

This talk explores a question many founders, investors, and impact leaders are grappling with: how do you finance impact when the goal is lasting change, not just rapid growth? We will look at what impact investing really means in practice, how it differs from traditional venture capital, and what kinds of ventures and solutions it is designed to back. The session will also unpack the challenges and gaps that still limit capital flows, and why a systemic lens matters when investing to shift root causes rather than only treating symptoms.

Shift the Frame: Financing systems change beyond venture capital brings together Arturo Benito (CEO, Impact Bridge) and Eline de Haan (Investment Manager, Rubio Impact Ventures) in conversation with Jérémie Meyer (Esade MBA, voted 2025 Best & Brightest MBA by Poets and Quants) to unpack what fit-for-purpose capital looks like and how to navigate it.

In this session, you will discover:

  • What impact investing is and how it differs from conventional venture capital in goals, timelines, and expectations

  • Where impact capital typically goes, including the types of ventures, sectors, and financial instruments most often used

  • The real-world hurdles impact investors and founders face, from measuring outcomes to aligning incentives and governance

  • What the market still needs to unlock more effective capital, including patient funding, stronger pipelines, and better risk-sharing structures

  • How a systems-change perspective shapes investment decisions, helping capital target root causes, leverage points, and long-term transformation
