Aretaxia Creatives #1 : Munk Debate
Aretaxia Creatives is our new monthly space dedicated to participative creative formats where you do not just attend, you engage. Each session explores a different format designed to push how we think, and express ourselves
We’re opening with a Munk style debate format. This is a formal, speakers led format featuring two teams, usually two speakers per side, debating a single pre announced motion focused on topics that stimulate our minds and which encourage why and how to think. We tend to stay away from political, religious and forms of identity topics as they can escalate in all wrong ways.
The structure emphasizes evidence based arguments and strategic rebuttals. The winner is not just decided by a moderator but by the audience, based on a vote taken before and after the debate to measure whose arguments actually shifted opinion.
You can choose your side, if you choose to actively participate, have time to prepare, and move through opening statements, rebuttals, moderated exchanges, and closing arguments. The audience will not be passive. They act as the jury, questioning, evaluating, and ultimately deciding which side made the stronger case. Limited spots to keep the room focused and competitive.
