ATProto in Vancouver Locals Experience
We're organizing the ATProtocol Community Conference - aka ATmosphereConf - in Vancouver, planning for late March 2026.
We're looking to gather a local crew of participants, volunteers, co-creators and others that are interested in welcoming conference attendees to Vancouver, showcasing creative things happening here, and plugging in local creators, makers, artists, and builders of all kinds.
Local Info
Some of the basics are getting around Vancouver, collecting places to eat & drink & visit that we can recommend.
Aside from the conference hotel, are there other places to stay that we can recommend or help people connect with.
Experiences
These are some of the ideas we've thought of so far. Come and bring your own!
Event Guides
from a walk in Pacific Spirit Park, a kayak paddle in False Creek, to a classic Dim Sum meal, what are people visiting interested in, who wants to be a local guide?
Creator Marketplace
we're already renting space for the conference - as part of serving people with social tools like ATProto, can we organize a creator marketplace as part of the conference
art, fashion, craft, electronics, food - what creators would want to join us in a 1 or 2 day market, showcasing what they're making to 100s of visitors from out of town, as well as locals that we encourage to attend
Artist Installations
outreach to paid artist installations
this might be creative tech of various kinds - what are interactive artworks or experiences that have some tie to ATProto - either directly through coding and visualization, or indirectly through themes of independence, open-ness, and resilience?
After Party Experience
where shall we hold the after party? what nights shall we we activate
can we include local musicians or performers (live coding?)
are there alternate experiences like meals, shows, or simple chill board game night
Volunteers
As well as events and activities around the conference, we'll need room facilitators, guides, check-in desk, and other tasks during the conference.
We can offer free attendance to the conference and events in exchange for some volunteer shifts.
What else can we do to raise sponsorship funds for specific experiences or roles? How do people want to be involved? What's important to you?
The conference is being run by the AT Community Fund, which is fiscally hosted by RAFT Foundation, a 501c3 non profit in the US. Boris Mann is the conference lead.
