The Good People β Edition NΒ°3
βFor the Ocean π | The Good People Community Β· Edition #4
Dive deep into the solutions. Sea the change.
βAbout this edition
βFor our fourth edition, The Good People Community is dedicating an evening to the ocean.
βThe ocean produces over half of the oxygen we breathe, feeds billions of people and regulates our climate. It is also under pressure from overfishing, bycatch and plastic pollution. Here in Portugal, with one of the largest maritime zones in Europe, the ocean is part of who we are.
βAs always: no doom, just solutions. We'll come together to understand what's really happening beneath the surface, hear from people working to protect it, and leave with simple, concrete actions we can take starting tomorrow.
βProgram
βπ΅ Live concert Β· 45 min
We open the evening with live music to set the mood.
βπ Welcome to The Good People Community
Who we are, what we've done so far, and how you can get involved.
βπ Ocean talk Β· Captain Paul Watson Foundation
We welcome the Captain Paul Watson Foundation. Captain Paul Watson has spent over 50 years protecting whales and marine life. He was an early member of Greenpeace, founded Sea Shepherd, and in 2022 started his own foundation to continue the fight through direct action. We will hear his story and learn about the foundation's current missions, from ending whaling in Iceland to protecting krill, the base of life in Antarctica.
βπ Interactive workshop with Margaux Β· 30-40 min
Together, we will look at why our seas are emptying: overfishing, bycatch, the dolphins and other animals caught by accident in fishing nets, and the impact of plastic. Then we focus on what matters most: concrete solutions we can bring into our everyday lives, from what we eat to what we buy.
βπ₯ Food & drinks
Delicious & conscious food
