Drawing on her work at Becht Foundation, Mastak will explore why it is essential to tackle the biodiversity & climate crises together. She’ll share how the Foundation supports bold, data-driven initiatives around the world, from creating vast marine protected areas to fighting misinformation & building public support for climate action. With examples ranging from the high seas to coastal fisheries, Mastak will offer a fresh perspective on how philanthropy can turn the tide – and why the ocean deserves far more of our attention & dedication.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Mastak Pal Kaur
Mastak is Programme Director at Becht Foundation where she leads the strategy and development of its grants portfolio, focused on protecting and restoring our planet’s biodiversity through marine conservation and climate communications. She also serves as ESG Director at Bansk Group, where she identifies and maximises key ESG opportunities that are material to the consumer goods sector.
Prior to joining Becht Foundation and Bansk, she was responsible for end-to-end brand management and category development roles at L’Oreal, and previously for the stakeholders management at The Challenge Network, a UK-based youth and community development charity.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University, India; an MSc in Marketing from Manchester Business School, UK; and an MBA from INSEAD, France & Singapore.
