About Event

On 13 October 2026, the Nature Positive Initiative published the State of Nature Indicators and Metrics - a consensus framework that distils more than 600 existing metrics into four core indicators: ecosystem extent, ecosystem condition, species extinction risk and species populations. TNFD and SBTN have already integrated them into their updated guidance.

For corporates, the question has shifted from which metrics to use to how to measure them credibly - and what the evidence allows you to say. Join us on Wednesday 4 November, 12:00-13:00 GMT, to find out what this means for your reporting, targets and investment decisions.

Speakers

  • Emma Marsden, Technical Manager, Nature Positive Initiative Secretariat. Emma works on the NPI’s State of Nature metrics, the framework now shaping TNFD and SBTN guidance.

  • Joshua Berger, CEO, The Biodiversity Footprint Intelligence Company (BioInt). Joshua is a member of the interim Secretariat of the Ecosystem Condition Protocol. He previously led the Biodiversity Footprint team at CDC Biodiversité, where he built the Global Biodiversity Score.

  • Dr Simon Morgan, Head of Science, CreditNature. Simon will demonstrate how CreditNature's Ecosystem Condition Index is applied in practice.

Hosted by Cain Blythe, Founder and CEO, CreditNature.

Running order

  • The new state of nature metrics. Emma Marsden on the four indicators: why these four and how they connect to TNFD and SBTN.

  • From measurement to evidence. Simon Morgan shows how the Ecosystem Condition Index, the first ecosystem-level methodology accredited under the Accounting for Nature® Standard, turns measured condition into evidence for reporting across supply chains and restoration projects.

  • Panel discussion and audience Q&A
