About Event

Hopefully your team is already using some AI-powered tools for writing and creating code. This workshop isn't about that.

This is about the OTHER 60% of your job as an engineering leader—the strategic work, the people management, the cross-functional alignment, the communication up and down. The ways AI can save you hours each week - and how to help your teams do the same (because let's be honest, most engineering leaders are still figuring this part out).

This hands-on session is designed for VPs of Engineering, CTOs, and Directors who need to understand how AI can make them more effective leaders, not just for use in coding. We'll focus on practical applications for technical leadership: roadmap planning, stakeholder communication, team development, architectural decisions, and the constant context-switching that eats your time.

Format: 60 minutes, virtual, highly interactive with breakout sessions where you'll work on real challenges from your role.

What You'll Learn

By the end of this workshop, you'll be able to:

  1. Use AI for strategic engineering leadership tasks

  2. Apply AI to common time sinks

  3. Navigate AI for distributed/remote team leadership

  4. Work through a real leadership challenge

Key Takeaways

You'll walk away with:

  • Prompts for common engineering leadership tasks (stakeholder updates, technical decisions, team planning)

  • Framework for when to use AI vs. when you need to do it yourself (the judgment calls that matter)

  • Specific tools and workflows for team leadership

  • Worked example from your role that you practiced during the workshop

This is NOT:

  • ❌ About using AI for coding (your team already knows that)

  • ❌ Generic AI training that treats all leaders the same

  • ❌ A lecture—this is hands-on and interactive

  • ❌ Hype about AI replacing engineering leaders (it won't)

Who Should Attend

  • VPs of Engineering and CTOs at companies of 50+ people

  • Engineering Directors managing multiple teams

  • Technical leaders in distributed/remote organizations

  • Anyone who spends more time on strategy, communication, and people than on code

  • Engineering leaders looking to scale their impact without burning out
