Generation Environment: The Nature + Bird Walk
Climate Week’s walking meeting with nature, our city’s most precious feature. And yes, there will be birds!
End the week on a nature high!
Join Generation Environment as we take to the trails in Central Park to learn about our city’s plant life, while also connecting with each other. Time in nature has a way of bringing clarity and peace of mind, so this is the perfect way to let all the activity of a jam-packed Climate Week begin to settle and sort within your mind.
Led by Robert DeCandido, a former biologist for the NYC Department of Parks and PhD in NYC’s flora, we’ll get to see Central Park in a new light, and leave actually knowing the names of our plant and tree neighbors! Discover the biodiversity that exists right here, and why it’s essential to life in the city. We’ll also explore how warming temperatures and other climate-fueled events impact our green spaces, and the work being done to restore and protect them. Overall, it’ll be a beautiful walk in the park.
