INVOKE: A Weekend Ceremony of Embodied Transformation
Technology has made a lot of big promises to humanity. Social media was supposed to connect us, but left us chasing, seeking, and performing for the attention economy. AI is automating our work, leaving many of us questioning who we are if it's not what we do or sell.
INVOKE is a space to connect with the parts of us that technology can't replace: our connection to nature and each other through embodiment, story, and ceremony. This weekend of movement, contact, separation and convergence brings you to the heart of the stories you carry, and lets you consciously choose to move with a new one.
Two days of immersion culminate in a showcase on Sunday evening: an original creation myth, brought to life by the people who spent the weekend together learning to move in new ways. This work is relational — you learn to move with nature and with others, taking on new forms of leadership and community. It is also ceremonial, deeply steeped in the elements and mythology, with a ritual theater showcase to share with your friends on Sunday evening.
What happens here
A full weekend immersion into elemental forms through dance and movement, bringing forms into the body as a felt understanding. Through guided movement, breath, and Liquid Leading: a relational conversation of proposing and responding that becomes possible when no one is required to disappear. You come back into your breath, your tissue, your rhythm, and the animal intelligence of being fully here.
Most spaces teach you to transcend the body. This one brings you back to it. Surrender here is not compliance: it's sovereignty. Becoming is not clean. It's erotic, it's messy, and it moves you through grief, rage, pleasure, and sensation. You don't give your power away. You will learn to give it back to yourself.
Weekend Flow
Day 1 (Saturday) immerses you in the elements: the mystery of the ether, the ferocity of fire, the life force of earth, the emotional flow of water, and the ecstatic breath of air. After learning the forms these elements take, you carry the building blocks of nature in your own body — your nature aligned with that of creation itself.
Day 2 (Sunday) brings these forms into story, as we prepare for an evening showcase with The First Song: a new creation myth about astrophysics. You'll be partnered with another dancer to embody the polarity of an element, working in pairs to refine your movements for the evening performance. You'll be invited to bring friends, family, and loved ones into the space, to show them what you've learned and be witnessed in your transformation.
The First Song: Workshop Showcase
The weekend has a destination — you, moving a myth through your own body, witnessed by the people you love.
On Sunday evening, the group performs "The First Song," an original creation myth written and narrated by Emily Fields Joffrion. You will use the movements from Brigitte’s workshop to bring the story to life. Everything the two days opened in your body will be witnessed by your loved ones in the performance.
The Details
October 17 + 18. Two full days at 54 Washburn, San Francisco, culminating in the Sunday evening showcase.
15 to 20 people. Snacks, tea, and materials included.
Participants are invited to bring guests to the Sunday evening performance.

INVOKE is led by Brigitte Wittmer, who works with people who have done the inner work and still feel something essential hasn't moved. Through somatic movement, Brazilian Zouk, and Liquid Leading — a relational framework she created — she works at the layer most personal development never reaches: the body, where the patterns actually live and where real change becomes possible. She has spent over two decades inside the body's intelligence as dancer, guide, and practitioner at the intersection of somatic repatterning, parts work, and mythosomatic intelligence. She is the creator of B-Moving and has guided private clients, groups, and facilitators across the US, Europe, and Brazil.

"The First Song" is written and narrated by Emily Fields Joffrion, an architect of stories that shape movements, consciousness, and culture. Across communications, ritual theater, and visual art, her work is held together by one conviction: that the stories we tell create the world we inhabit.
