Advancing Open Source Security In Africa: OpenSSF and OSSAfrica
Event Description
Join us for the first OSSAfrica virtual event, “Advancing Open Source Security in Africa: OpenSSF and OSSAfrica.” This session will introduce the foundations of open source and open source security, why they matter in today’s technology ecosystem, and how communities across Africa can meaningfully participate in shaping the future of secure software.
Hosted by OSSAfrica in collaboration with members of the Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) and the broader open source community, the discussion will explore the benefits of open source, current trends in open source security, and the opportunities available for developers, students, organizations, and institutions to get involved.
Through a panel conversation with experienced contributors and leaders in the open source security ecosystem, attendees will gain practical insights into how open collaboration strengthens software security and how African communities can play an active role in the global open source movement.
Whether you are new to open source or already contributing, this session will provide context, inspiration, and pathways for deeper engagement with the open source security ecosystem.
