Moving beyond fragmented projects, this session embraces a landscape approach to build high-integrity carbon market systems that drive climate action, foster sustainable development, and regenerate nature—positioning carbon as a powerful development asset.

​Framed around three pillars—demand (leveraging drivers like Article 6, CORSIA, and voluntary commitments), supply (enhancing project pipelines, regulatory readiness, and MRV systems), and enablers (unlocking innovative financing, blended instruments, and equitable benefit-sharing)—the session will spotlight African leadership in embedding transparency, fairness, and community ownership into carbon markets.
