Art Analysis at the Beaumont Newhall Study Room
Visit the Beaumont Newhall Study Room at the University of New Mexico Art Museum (UNMAM), which holds one of the largest and most diverse art collections in the state. Get up close to the artworks of esteemed artists and UNM alumni who incorporate a range of media from photography to printmaking to textiles. Analyze the works of artists such as Patrick Nagatani, Delilah Montoya, Miguel Gandert, and Rose B. Simpson, among others whose work explores place and identity. Participants will have the opportunity to explore how the showcased artists were influenced by and engaged with place, specifically New Mexico, and how their time in the state led to successful careers in the arts.
Please meet in the Center for the Arts (building CTART 62 on the campus map), which houses Popejoy Hall and the University of New Mexico Art Museum (UNMAM).
