Micro Master Class with Martin Klingst
We are excited to continue our Micro Masterclass series at Public Makers in 2026 and are honored to welcome Martin Klingst as our first speaker this year!
About Martin Klingst:
After studying law, Martin spent more than two decades as a journalist at leading German media outlets such as the NDR. He was also the Senior Political Editor and Head of the Politics Department at DIE ZEIT as well as their Bureau Chief in Washington, DC.
Additionally, he was also the Head of Strategic Communications and Speeches at the office of the German President Frank Walter Steinmeier. Currently, he is the Managing Director of the “Initiative für einen handlungsfähigen Staat” at the Hertie School.
With a background that bridges law, journalism and high-level public service, Martin will be talking about the “Initiative für einen handlungsfähigen Staat”, explore how it was set, its effects and the potential it has to drive change in the German administration.
We will kick-off with a short, moderated panel and input from Martin Klingst followed by an interactive Q&A. This is your chance to directly connect with him, so bring your questions!
The event will be held in English!
