China has entered a moderately aging society. Too often, we frame aging as a “burden” or “pressure” — yet rarely do we see the enormous, undervalued value older adults carry: tacit knowledge, life experience, community wisdom, craft heritage, all of which are living treasures that AI and young technology cannot easily replicate.

In this talk, I will unpack the topic of aging from three perspectives: cognitive neuroscience, AI technology, and social design. We will discuss not only the challenges, but also the opportunities; not just data, but human stories. You will see that when we stop treating older adults as “care recipients” and start seeing them as “value creators,” an entirely different future begins to open up.

🎯 What We Will Talk About

1.The truth behind the numbers: China’s aging status, urban-rural disparities, health challenges, and the digital divide.

2.The undervalued “silver asset”: Why older adults’ tacit knowledge and experiential wisdom are irreplaceable by AI.

3.A cognitive science perspective: The plasticity, cognitive strengths, and misunderstood aspects of the aging brain.

4.How technology can empower: Practical paths with AI interview agents, knowledge graphs, VR heritage, and age-friendly interaction.

5.Community and social innovation: Building an “active aging” ecosystem that shifts older adults from “being cared for” to “being needed.”

6.My practical sharing: Real projects from neuroscience experiments, community design, to AI-enabled elder value creation.

👩‍🎤 Speaker

Justine

Master’s student in Cognitive Neuroscience. Her research and practice focus on cognitive aging, neuroimaging analysis, AI modeling, and user research. She has participated in the China Brain Project’s infant multimodal brain research, AI-assisted diagnosis of autism brain networks, and studies on dance intervention and brain plasticity in older adults. She has also independently developed projects including an AI recruitment automation system.

With a longstanding focus on cognitive health and social value in older adults, she excels at unpacking real social issues and innovative solutions in China from both scientific and humanistic perspectives.
