Signals from the Bay - Art Exhibition Opening
Homebrew Club invites you to Signals from the Bay, an exhibition celebrating artists and creative communities from across the Bay Area.
Bringing together abstract painting, mixed media, digital illustration, and culturally rooted visual storytelling, the exhibition explores what it means to seek expression, transformation, and belonging. Across bold colors, layered textures, symbolic figures, and imagined worlds, the featured artists make visible the emotions, histories, and constraints that shape how we see ourselves and one another.
Join us for the opening night to meet the artists, experience the work, and connect with people from across the Bay Area’s creative and technology communities.

6:00PM - Doors open, exhibition viewing, drinks, and conversation
7:00PM - Welcome from Homebrew and brief introductions from the artists
7:10PM - 9PM - Exhibition viewing and community gathering

Anne Schreier (@_anneschreier)
Anne Schreier is an artist whose work is rooted in a lifelong love of creating and exploring. Her practice primarily focuses on abstract painting and mixed media, with drawing and life sketching becoming an increasingly important part of her work. She is drawn to rich color, expressive mark-making, and texture, creating pieces that leave room for curiosity and personal interpretation.
After studying art at College of San Mateo, Anne stepped away from art to explore a career in the medical field before finding her way back to creating. Her 2022 paintings reflect the deeply personal experience of early motherhood and postpartum life, with several works also drawing inspiration from songs by Filipino band Eraserheads.
Today, Anne continues to explore new mediums and ideas while working as an artist, entrepreneur, and Creative Director and Event Stylist for Soiree Society and its sister company, Soiree Society Collective, where she develops event styling, dessert and custom creative experiences.
Geo Devesa (@pinkbear.studio)
Geovana “Geo” Devesa is a Brazilian-born artist who first fell in love with San Francisco when she visited the Bay Area in 2016 through a volunteer program. Although she always knew she wanted to be an artist, her experiences in the Bay Area opened the door to exploring different creative mediums and discovering new ways of expressing herself.
For this exhibition, Geo presents a selection of digital paintings that reflect her ongoing exploration of visual storytelling and personal expression. While digital painting is one part of her artistic practice, her long-term goal is to bring her love of characters and storytelling into the world of toy and collectible design, creating imaginative objects that allow stories and personalities to exist beyond the canvas.
Kimberly Catherine (@thecatherines)
Kim is an entrepreneur, investor, consultant, and business analyst deeply committed to supporting small business owners and community builders. She moves between analytical rigor and intuitive knowing, understanding that numbers tell only partial truths.
Through her creative practice—a disciplined personal outlet—she explores the tensions between ambition, power, and authenticity in Silicon Valley. Her contemporary work interrogates what sustains integrity when navigating capital and competing interests. The art serves as both reflection and resistance—a necessary space for examining the spiritual and emotional dimensions of building, advising, and remaining whole.
Mario "SMURKS1" Guitron
Mario started his journey in San Bruno, California. SMURKS1, as he's known by friends and fans alike, has participated in several major shows and has displayed his art at SF landmark venues like The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, and Twin Pines Arts Center as well as numerous galleries and popups.
In San Bruno, he joined the Culture and Arts Commission in 2022 as Chair in the hopes of finding and sharinge resources available from the city for artists and creative groups. His current studio is a shared space at AZ Gallery as part of a collective of over 25 artists. SMURKS1 has competed at and emceed Art Battle San Francisco and went on to represent The City at the 2023-24 Regional Championship.
