From Prototype to Production: What It Takes to Scale Robotics
'Gradient Descending' is a series of roundtables on AI: curated deep dives with technical builders. Past roundtables discussions covered RL Environments, Evals, Fine-Tuning, Agent Frameworks, Open Source Models, and Knowledge Graphs with companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor, Scale AI and many more.
For our next Zurich session, we’re teaming up with Pluto to bring together a small group of founders, engineers and researchers building in robotics and Physical AI.
We’re joined by Marcin Dymczyk, co-founder of Sevensense Robotics, now part of ABB Robotics, to talk about what it actually takes to turn robotics research into a product that works reliably in the real world.
Marcin’s journey took him from robotics research at ETH Zurich to building Sevensense and deploying its technology in real industrial environments.
We’ll get into:
turning solid technology from academia into an actual product
what changes when you go from a PoC with 2-5 robots to 50+ running permanently
what breaks when robots leave controlled environments and enter the real world
building for reliability when robots need to operate 24/7
Expect an honest discussion with a curated group of founders and operators.
Agenda:
Arrivals: 09:00–09:30
Roundtable discussion: 09:30–10:30
