Rektsurvivor All Time Hike: Blockmountain 2026

This is a hike taking place outdoors and will continue even with light rain. This is a rain or shine event, we don't stop when things get a little wet! 🌧️

From Charts to Trails

Let's climb our way back to the moon! 📈➡️⛰️

Join the Rektsurvivor crew for an epic mountain hike on the legendary Monk's Trail in Chiang Mai! Time to step away from the charts, breathe some fresh Thai mountain air, and remember there's more to life than red candles. Plus, hiking is the only green we're seeing lately!

We'll be taking the safe route—the first segment of the Monk's Trail to Wat Pha Lat Temple, a stunning hidden gem nestled in the forests of Doi Suthep. This is a moderate 40-minute hike perfect for crypto survivors of all fitness levels. Those feeling extra bullish can continue to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep at the summit!

Meeting Details

Location: Monk's Trail Trailhead (Phalad Nature Trail entrance)

View on Google Maps

Near Chiang Mai Zoo, at the end of Suthep Road. Look for the "No entry" barrier on the right and the gravel trail with green signs on the left—that's our starting point!

Time: 7:00 AM sharpWait Time: 15 minutes max before we head outCoordinates: 18.798111, 98.942361

What to Bring

  • Hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers - Your portfolio might be down, but your feet don't have to suffer. The trail gets rocky and can be slippery!

  • Water bottle (at least 1 liter) - Stay hydrated while we touch grass!

  • Light jacket or windbreaker - Mornings can be cool at 15-20°C

  • Mosquito repellent - The forest has mosquitos, more persistent than scam DMs!

  • Temple-appropriate clothing - Cover shoulders and knees, we're visiting sacred temples

  • Sunscreen - The Thai sun doesn't care about your SPF portfolio

  • Small snacks - Energy bars, trail mix—fuel for the climb

  • Phone with offline maps downloaded

  • Small towel - You WILL sweat

  • Cash - For drinks/snacks at the temple and songthaew ride back if needed

What NOT to Bring

  • Flip flops or sandals - Monks can do it, you probably can't

  • Heavy backpacks - Travel light, we're not moving apartments

  • Expensive jewelry or watches - Leave the Rolex at the hotel

  • Bad vibes - We've been rekt enough, let's keep it positive!

  • Laptops - No chart-watching allowed on this hike!

  • Drones - Not permitted in the national park area

The Route: Safe Path on Monk's Trail

Start: Monk's Trail Trailhead (near Chiang Mai Zoo)

Destination: Wat Pha Lat Temple

Distance: ~2km one way

Duration: 40-45 minutes at a comfortable pace

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Elevation Gain: ~200 meters

The trail is well-marked and intuitive—trees along the path are wrapped with orange cloth (like monk's robes). You'd have to try really hard to get lost!

Exit Point: Wat Pha Lat Temple

This beautiful hidden temple features waterfalls and city views, with restrooms and rest areas available. From here, you can either:

  1. Hike back down the same trail (recommended)

  2. Continue to Doi Suthep summit (advanced—additional 1.5 hours)

  3. Take a songthaew (red truck taxi) from the temple road back to the city

Wet Weather Plan & Contingencies

This is a RAIN OR SHINE event!

Just like crypto markets, we don't stop for a little volatility. However, safety comes first.

Light Rain: We proceed as planned. The forest canopy provides good cover.

Heavy Rain/Thunderstorm:

  • If conditions are dangerous, we will shelter at the trailhead

  • Announcement will be posted in the event chat by 6:00 AM if conditions look severe

What to do if it rains:

  • Bring a light rain jacket or poncho (recommended regardless)

  • Trail can get muddy and slippery—extra caution required

  • Pace will be slower for safety

Emergency Contacts:

  • Thailand Emergency: 1669 (ambulance) / 191 (police)

  • Tourist Police: 1155
