​​G-Fellows is excited to host Shomik Ghosh, Partner at Sierra Ventures

​Shomik Ghosh is a Partner at Sierra Ventures. He was previously a Partner at Boldstart Ventures, where he focused on investing at inception in technical founders building products to solve enterprise pain points, such as Cloudquery, Kiln AI, and Noded AI. Prior to that, he was a growth-stage investor at Top Tier Capital Partners, investing from Series B through pre-IPO in companies such as CircleCI, Anaplan, and Shape Security. He previously has experience in tech M&A, fixed income trading, venture debt, and at a failed startup. He's an avid fan of hiking and enjoys spending time with his young son when he has free time. He is known as the cautionary tale of playing pickleball for fun, not stretching, and ending up with a torn Achilles.

Each G-Fellow sources promising startups, tracks emerging industry trends, and nominates founders to pitch leading investors. G-Fellows are guided by tier-one VC and founder advisors, and get direct access to some of the hottest startups in Silicon Valley through hands-on workshops designed to help them land their dream internship and become truly industry-ready. This is real experience — the network, the reps, and the credibility to walk into any room in venture or tech and belong there. Grace Gong founded G-Fellows — part of Smart Venture Media — alongside Founding Fellow Siya Verma, who has been with the program from day one, to bridge the gap between the most talented students in the country and the venture world they're trying to break into

​Featured Fellows

​​Kash Setty is a student at UIUC studying Computer Information Sciences and Statistics. His experience spans AI and data science research, consulting work, and a project with NASA focused on neuro-adaptive AR and VR research. Outside of tech, he’s involved in theatre as both an actor and director, and has earned several state and national qualifications in the field. He also spends time outside of class working on technology projects, developing business and product pitches around those ideas. He’s generally interested in the intersection of AI, product, and real-world impact, and likes working across both technical and creative spaces.

​Siya Verma is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, with a minor in Consumer Psychology. She was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and has spent the past three years conducting public opinion polling and human-AI interaction research at Stanford. This summer, she’ll be working with Meta’s Governance Innovation team. She’s also the co-founder and COO of Ezio, an AI alignment startup, and co-hosts a podcast featuring VCs and entrepreneurs. Outside of work and school, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen—especially with vegan-style cooking and baking, even though she’s not vegan herself.

​Suhaan Khan is a freshman at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, studying CS + Astronomy + Mathematics. He’s from Austin, Texas and moved to the U.S. when he was around 6 or 7 years old. He’s interested in entrepreneurship and research and is currently a cofounder of Framelight and Memory Map. On the research side, he’s working in quantum cryptography and machine learning in astrophysics, which he’s been exploring further through his academic work. Outside of that, he plays the clarinet and enjoys running.
