Blue Carbon Hawker Club

Where carbon sinks meet satay sticks — an informal Lau Pa Sat gathering for the blue carbon and nature-based solutions community ahead of the WWF Blue Catalyst Challenge and Ecosperity week

"Blue carbon needs more than capital. It needs science, trust, local partnerships, credible MRV — and occasionally, a hawker table full of people willing to figure it out together" - Al Gore (not yet validated by VVB)

With the WWF / Hatch Blue Blue Catalyst Challenge bringing blue carbon innovators, mentors, and practitioners to Singapore — and Ecosperity week beginning shortly after — this is a chance for the wider blue carbon and nature-based solutions community to gather informally before the formal programming begins.

We’ll meet at Lau Pa Sat for food, satay, drinks, and real conversation about what it takes to make blue carbon work in practice.

No panels. No presentations. No name badges. Just good food and better conversations. This is a chance to connect before the formal meetings begin.

Who should come?

  • Blue carbon project developers

  • Mangrove, seagrass, wetland, and coastal restoration people

  • Carbon market and MRV practitioners

  • Conservation finance and nature finance folks

  • Biodiversity and community-based restoration experts

  • Investors, buyers, funders, NGOs, researchers, and policymakers

  • Anyone in town for the Blue Catalyst Challenge or Ecosperity week

  • Anyone who thinks good climate conversations are better over satay and drinks

Host note

Hosted by Lee Pearson / Wovoka as an informal community gathering.

This is not an official WWF, Hatch Blue, EDB, or Ecosperity event — just a casual meet-up for people who happen to be in Singapore and want to connect around blue carbon, nature finance, and ecosystem restoration.

Final thoughts

Come hungry, come curious, and bring anyone who should be part of the conversation. Guests will be invited to a WhatsApp group to coordinate exact meeting spot within the center.

See you at Lau Pa Sat.
