UK Africa Quantum AI Forum
The Africa Quantum Institute (AQI) is hosting three days in London for senior leaders from African governments, financial services and telecoms, alongside UK quantum research centres, industry and investors.
Quantum technology will change how banks, payment systems and mobile networks stay secure. The world has started moving to post-quantum encryption. African institutions need to be in the room while the rules, partnerships and investment priorities are being set.
This convening is where that starts. The aim is practical: agree where the UK and Africa can work together on quantum and AI, and leave with named commitments.
Programme
Day 1 · Wednesday 4 November: Quantum and AI, hands on
Hosted by Google in London. A practical session on how AI and quantum computing are being applied today, followed by a delegation welcome.
Day 2 · Thursday 5 November: Main convening day
Held under the Chatham House Rule.
• Diplomatic opening
• Where quantum and AI meet: the post-quantum security transition and the role of AI in responding to it
• Quantum capability today, in the UK and across Africa
• Examples of UK–Africa research collaboration that already work
• Working groups on short, medium and long-term initiatives
• Commitments drawn together into a UK–Africa Quantum Readiness Charter
Day 3 · Friday 6 November: UK Quantum Showcase
The delegation attends the UK Quantum Showcase by special invitation, meeting UK quantum companies, research groups and investors.

Participants are director level and above:
• Government ministries, central banks and regulators
• Chief executives and technology leaders from banks, insurers and mobile operators
• University and research leaders in quantum and AI
• UK research centres, technology companies, investors and development finance institutions

This is an invitation-only event with limited places. Every registration is reviewed. Approved participants receive confirmation, the venue address and logistics details by email. Please register once only; you can say in the form which days you plan to attend.
