About Event

Canada committed $528.5 million CAD to European Space Agency programs in November 2025, a tenfold increase over its previous contribution. The money is allocated across satellite communications, Earth observation, space exploration, and navigation technology, spent over the next three to five years.

The open question for Canadian companies in advanced materials, photonics, communications, and sensor technologies is how to actually get in front of it.

Cornelius Zünd is ESA's Industrial Policy Officer for Canada. He runs the Canada desk day to day: which programs are open, how the esa-star tendering platform works, and where Canadian companies can move first. He's coming to TBDC to walk through it directly.

This session also previews ESA's Industry Space Days 2026 (September 16 to 17, ESA/ESTEC, Noordwijk), where Canadian companies can book one-on-one meetings with European primes and agency buyers. If you're weighing whether to make the trip, this is the briefing to attend first.
