Paella isn’t just a dish—it’s a ritual. In Valencia, gathering around the paellera isn’t about speed or convenience. It’s about presence. Timing. Paying attention.
At Rice to Meet You, we’re recreating that. An evening where you’ll learn the craft from someone steeped in tradition, cook alongside others who appreciate the work, and share a meal that’s equal parts technique and celebration.
The Arc of the Evening:
We begin with an hour to arrive, breathe, and connect. Meet the group. Sample Spanish wines and thoughtfully selected tapas. Get comfortable.
Then, our paella maestro takes over. You’ll learn what actually matters—how to read the rice, the role of heat, the importance of the socarrat (that golden crust at the bottom). Small groups. Plenty of hands-on guidance. No intimidation.
Finally, you’ll sit together to eat what you’ve made, surrounded by more wine, more tapas, and the particular satisfaction that comes from creating something beautiful with your own hands.
