Join us for an afternoon of coffee and conversation on how the Philippines is already governing AI and what it takes to build a career in this field.
Our speakers
Mary Grace Mirandilla-Santos is an independent ICT policy researcher and lead advocate of Better Internet PH, the group behind the push for the Konektadong Pinoy Act. She will talk about development entrepreneurship as an approach to tech policy advocacy in the Philippines, drawing on examples like EO 127 on satellite liberalization, the Konektadong Pinoy Act (RA 12234), and AI4PH’s proposal for a phased AI governance framework.
Atty. Edsel Tupaz is a Senior Partner and head of Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and AI Initiatives at Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra, and a fellow of Cohort 1 of our AI Governance Accelerator. He will talk about how the Philippines is already governing AI, and share his experience in the Accelerator.
Each talk is followed by an open Q&A, and we’ll close with networking over coffee with the local AI safety community.
