About Event

What does it really take to modernize the systems and data that businesses have relied on for decades?

On 20 October, we’re bringing together Nion and CROZ for an evening exploring the intersection of legacy technology, architecture, data and AI.

Rather than focusing on theory, we’ll share two real-world projects: one looking at how AI can support the modernization of critical legacy systems, and another exploring how strong data governance can create a trusted foundation for AI.

Join us at Nion’s Stockholm office for an evening of interesting conversations, drinks and networking — and hopefully leave with a few ideas you can take back to your own organization.

📅 20 October 2026
🕔 17:00–20:00
📍 Nion, Hudiksvallsgatan 6, Stockholm

What’s on the agenda?

17:00–17:30 · Doors open, welcome drinks & networking

17:30–17:40 · Welcome and intro by Simon Forshaw, CCO at Nion

17:40–18:10 · Modernizing with Confidence By Irena Sporer Jurisevic, Project Manager at CROZ and Krunoslav Funtak, Software Consultant and Architect at CROZ

See how AI helps teams understand legacy systems, dependencies and business logic before making changes. Using a critical Nordic public-sector modernization project as the example, we will show a faster, lower-risk path to systems built for the future.

18:10–18:40 · Data You Can Trust by Darko Bensic, Data Architect at CROZ

Learn how strong data governance turns inconsistent, disconnected data into a trusted, business-ready foundation for AI. This financial services project shows what separates pilots that stall from solutions that scale.

18:40–19:00 · Panel & Q&A: An open conversation with the experts behind both projects.

19:00–20:00 · Drinks & networking: Stay for a drink and continue the conversation with fellow architects, data professionals, AI specialists, mainframe experts and system engineers.

Who is this for?

This evening is particularly relevant if you work with:

  • Mainframe, COBOL and legacy systems

  • Enterprise, solution or software architecture

  • Data strategy, data architecture or data governance

  • AI and emerging technologies

  • Systems engineering and complex IT environments

  • Modernization and digital transformation

If you’re dealing with the challenge of modernizing what already exists while preparing for what comes next, we’d love to have you join us.

The event is free to attend. Save your spot and join us on 20 October!
