
Reimagining Black Excellence: Pathways for Success for Black Neurodiverse Youth and Families
Reimagining Black Excellence is a multi-stream Ontario Trillium Foundation-funded program designed to support Black neurodivergent youth (ages 13 to 24) and their families across Durham Region, ON.
Through culturally affirming workshops, mentorship, and community-based support, this program creates space for youth and families to explore identity, build confidence, and navigate education and life systems in ways that reflect their lived experiences.
Who This Is For
We warmly invite:
Black neurodivergent youth (ages 13–24, including Grades 8–12 & post-secondary students)
Parents, caregivers, and families of Black neurodivergent youth
Schools, educators, and community organizations
Community partners and stakeholders supporting Black youth and families

Why This Work Matters
Black neurodivergent youth and their families often face gaps in culturally affirming and accessible support.
This program was created to respond to those gaps by building safe, inclusive spaces where youth and families can feel seen, supported, and empowered both within and beyond education systems.
What’s Next
Program sessions will begin in June 2026, with both virtual and in-person opportunities across Durham Region (locations to be shared with registered participants).
