Our very first Girls Who Yap Fellowship has officially wrapped and honestly? We’re still buzzing from all the energy, ideas, and (let’s be real) sheer genius you all brought to the table. Here’s the tea:
🥁 The Numbers That Speak Louder Than Words :
But honestly? More than numbers, it was the people. The same people who stayed up nights, built stuff together, cheered for each other, and cried on graduation day.
Challenges that Bonded Us (Fun, With a Side of Friendship)
What started as quirky little challenges quickly turned into connection machines. From brainstorming marathons to silly prompts, these moments brought us all a lot closer, proof that fun + learning = the best kind of magic
Hackathon: The Heartbeat of the Fellowship
If the fellowship were a movie, the hackathon was its plot twist.
27 projects came alive, ranging from wild “what if” ideas to fully working prototypes.
Yappers teamed up, brainstormed, fought (lovingly), laughed, and built until the very last minute.
This was proof that we’re not just a community that yaps, we build.
Okay, but can we talk about our late-night chats, gaming night, ice-cream & Pizza treat?!
By this time, a core group of 42 yappers had formed. Every night, without fail, they’d hop on Discord VC. To talk, sing, play, rant, vibe. It didn’t feel like “programming.” It felt like friends meeting on the same rooftop every evening. That’s where the real bonding happened.
Pizza Parties & Ice-Cream Treats → Because good vibes taste better with food. 🍕🍦
Tiny wins, big energy → $$$ surprise prizes just for showing up and yapping.
From spontaneous laughter to the thrill of almost winning (and sometimes rage-quitting 👀), these sessions gave us all the vibes.
A few glimpses from those nights still have us smiling ear-to-ear.
Bounty Hunters Assemble
Some of you came, saw, and totally slayed the bounty board. Whether it was research, campaigns, or just flexing creativity muscles, our winners proved that good ideas deserve good rewards.
We dropped a $1,000 bounty week to activate everyone, especially the lurkers.
And girl, did it work.
👉 118 content pieces in one bounty.
👉 60% were videos (people went all-in).
👉 Even passive members started posting, sharing, and flexing.
That week, the fellowship felt like a festival.
It wasn’t perfect (we had our share of tech chaos 🙃), but people stayed.
Not because of structure, or speakers, or slides but because of community.
From 2K+ messages within 3 hours of opening our WhatsApp group, to folks hopping on Discord every single night just to jam, rant, and sing together… the energy was real.
