​Africa’s Energy Transition: Finance, Geopolitics, and Opportunities

​Africa is at a critical moment in shaping its energy future. As the continent transitions toward more sustainable and resilient energy systems, important questions arise: Who finances Africa’s energy development? Under what conditions? And what does this mean for economic and political independence?

​This session will explore the intersection of energy transition, development finance, and geopolitics affecting Africa today.

​Participants will gain insights into:

• ​The geopolitical interests influencing energy investments across the continent

​The discussion will feature Guest Speaker:
Roberto Ridolfi, Senior Strategy Advisor at AFCEN, bringing international experience from Europe and global development institutions.

​The session will be moderated by Raphail John, a student from Technical University of Mombasa and one of the youth leaders in YMCA , representing the Energy Students Association (ESA TUM) in collaboration with YMCA Mombasa.
