Parents and carers of primary school-aged children with VI – join us for an online session focused on preparing for the transition to secondary school.
For many families, choosing a secondary school and preparing for the move from primary education can feel like a significant milestone. This session has been designed to help you understand the process, consider your options, and prepare your child for a positive transition.
The session will be led by Family Practitioner, Helen, who will share practical guidance and tips to help you feel informed and supported throughout the journey.
What we'll cover:
Understanding the secondary school transition timeline and choosing the right school for your child
Supporting independence, friendships, and wellbeing during the move to secondary education
Communicating your child's strengths and needs
Understanding the roles of parents, schools, and specialist VI services
What to expect:
Practical advice and guidance from a Family Practitioner
Useful tips to help you prepare for secondary school applications and transition planning
A supportive space to ask questions and connect with other families
