About Event

This regular lunch series will feature insights and an engaging presentation from a special guest speaker in our community, over a delicious catered set lunch and the opportunity to connect with fellow club members in a welcoming setting.

This month’s Celtic Conversations features Robert Pascoe, President of the Royal Historical Society of Victoria, Dean Laureate and Professor Emeritus at Victoria University, and recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Australian Historical Association. Together with Dr. Chris McConville, he co-authors the Streets Beneath Our Feet series and leads urban walking tours exploring Melbourne’s hidden histories.

In this talk, Robert Pascoe brings together two of his passions: immigrant history and Australian Rules football. He will explore how the arrival of working-class Irish-Australians in the formerly gentleman’s suburb of Richmond transformed the nature and significance of its football club, with lasting consequences for the history and culture of the Richmond Football Club.

Your ticket price includes presentation and insights from our guest speaker and a catered two course set lunch prepared by Chef Dargan and the Wild Geese team.
