About Event

Panel discussion (6:00–7:00) followed by a reception (7:00–8:30)

Co-hosted by TAICCA and presented with support from the Taipei Cultural Center and Agog

As the immersive field grows, XR creators face a critical question, “How do projects live on after their initial festival run?” This panel gathers producers and strategists from Taiwan’s thriving XR ecosystem to explore what it takes to extend the life cycle of virtual reality projects through international partnerships, curatorial collaborations, and emerging distribution models.

Panelists include key figures behind The Man Who Couldn't Leave, Dora—two works that are currently only view at the Museum—and a leader from Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), Taiwan’s leading cultural institution. Together, they’ll discuss the global creative, logistical, and diplomatic work involved in sustaining Taiwan XR projects.

Participants:
Rae Yen, Content & Culture Technology Senior Manager, TAICCA
Uilin WANG, Producer, Dora
Chin-Hsuan SUNG, Producer, The Man Who Couldn't Leave

Moderator: Michaela Ternasky-Holland, Guest Curator, Museum of the Moving Image

This conversation is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Portals of Solitude: Virtual Realities from Taiwan, which features four intimate Taiwanese VR experiences exploring solitude, resilience, and the power of immersion. The exhibition is on view at Museum of the Moving Image through July 27.

Please check in at the Museum's admission desk to pick up tickets for the panel. Tickets will be given out first-come, first-served.
