Clay & Hypnosis : Honor your ancestors. Break a few family rules.
This October, come get your hands in clay with us, using clay and hypnosis to connect with our ancestors, honor them, and say buh bye to the rules and habits your great-great-grandmother or your weird uncle Al passed on that no longer serve you.
Around Halloween and Día de los Muertos, the veil between us and our ancestors is thin. A perfect time to connect with them, ask for guidance, and let go of those unspoken family rules we may still be living by.
Come prepared for a hypnosis and clay sandwich.
And yes, hypnosis. A state of inwardly focused attention. I won’t be turning you into a chicken. We’ll use it to explore the patterns you’ve come to think of as “just who I am,” including the ones you learned from the people who came before you.
We begin by using hypnosis to notice what you want to work with (I’m talking about the rules, the habits, the behaviors you may not even realize you’ve taken on). Then we give it somewhere to go: the clay.
At some point, someone else continues what you started, and you receive their piece. You get to try a different response to that rule or habit through someone else’s clay, feeding off what that new piece shows you.
Then we come back to hypnosis to deepen it, calling in our ancestors for compassionate thoughts, guidance and new possibilities for how you want to live now.
While this is deep work, we do it in a playful container. Letting go can be hard. The playfulness gives us a way in.
We finish with a traditional Mallorcan merienda and time to enjoy each other’s company. The clay stays in the studio; you take home a handmade keepsake created for the occasion.
