​Synopsis: Tucker’s Law follows Stefanie Roe in the wake of her son Tucker’s death from a fentanyl overdose.  In the years since her loss, Stefanie has become a leading voice in the fight against illicit fentanyl; advocating for new legislation, developing curriculum, and supporting other “Angel Families” devastated by the crisis. In 2023, she helped pass House Bill 3908 “Tucker’s Law” in Texas, which mandates fentanyl education in grades 6–12.  But the victory is short-lived: the law is passed as an unfunded mandate.  Despite hundreds of millions of dollars in opioid settlement funds controlled by the Texas Comptroller’s office, Stefanie and her nonprofit struggle to access critical resources to fulfill the law’s promise.
