Saturday serves as the centerpiece of the 517 Hispanic Heritage Weekend with the A Taste Of 517 Hispanic Heritage Festival, a seven-hour outdoor celebration of Hispanic and Latino food, music, dance, small businesses, entertainment, and cultural traditions in the heart of Downtown Lansing.
Taking place on Capitol Avenue directly in front of the Michigan State Capitol, the festival transforms downtown into a large outdoor cultural marketplace and entertainment district featuring 70+ vendors, food trucks, community organizations, entrepreneurs, artists, performers, family programming, and cultural experiences.
The entertainment lineup includes a wide range of live music, DJs, dance, and performance representing different styles and influences from throughout Hispanic and Latino culture.
Featured Entertainment
Gabriel Burciaga y Grupo Animo will bring live Latin music to the festival stage as one of the day's featured musical performances.
Lucha Boom! will bring live lucha libre wrestling to the festival, combining athletic competition with one of Mexico's most recognizable forms of popular entertainment. Attendees will be able to watch live matches throughout the festival as luchadores compete inside the festival wrestling ring.

The festival will also feature folklórico dancers and cultural dance performances, providing attendees with opportunities to experience traditional movement, clothing, music, and artistic traditions alongside the contemporary music and entertainment taking place throughout the day.
Food & "A Taste Of" Experience
Food is a major component of Saturday's festival, with food trucks and vendors offering cuisine representing different Hispanic and Latin American cultures.
The "A Taste Of" concept is designed to give festival attendees an opportunity to experience Hispanic heritage through food while supporting independent restaurants, food entrepreneurs, caterers, and vendors from throughout Michigan.
Guests can expect a range of meals, snacks, desserts, beverages, and specialty items available for purchase throughout the event.
70+ Vendors & Small Businesses
More than 70 vendors will participate in the festival marketplace, including Hispanic and Latino-owned businesses as well as additional local small businesses, artists, makers, service providers, nonprofit organizations, and community resources.
Festival attendees will be able to shop directly with entrepreneurs throughout the day while learning about organizations and resources serving Greater Lansing's Hispanic and Latino communities.
Lucha Libre
A dedicated wrestling ring will feature Lucha Boom, bringing live lucha libre matches to Downtown Lansing (an afternoon and evening match at 4PM and 8PM).
Kidz Zone & Family Activities
The festival will include a dedicated Kidz Zone with activities and entertainment designed for children and families.
The Kidz Zone allows families to spend the afternoon and evening at the festival while giving younger attendees their own programming alongside the performances, food, vendors, and cultural activities happening throughout the event.
