Become a Climate Hero: Engaging Climate Education Workshop!
The Climate Fresk workshop is an interactive and collaborative session designed to educate participants about climate change using a science-based, card-driven approach. It typically consists of the following stages:
Introduction (15-30 min) – After a short icebreaker, Facilitators present the workshop's purpose, set expectations, and introduce the participants to the Climate Fresk methodology.
Construction of the Fresk or collage (60-90 min) – Participants work in teams to arrange and connect a set of 42 illustrated cards that represent different climate change causes, consequences, and mechanisms. This fosters a collective understanding of the climate system.
Creative Phase (15-30 min) – The team personalizes their Fresk by decorating it, adding titles, and discussing key takeaways. This step enhances engagement and ownership.
Debrief & Discussion (30-60 min) – Participants reflect on their learnings, share emotions, and discuss possible actions they can take to mitigate climate change at personal, professional, and societal levels.
Closing & Call to Action (15-30 min) – The workshop concludes with a summary of insights, commitments to action, and next steps for participants to stay engaged in climate solutions.
