Beyond Reporting: Using Sustainability Data to Build Trust, Drive Decarbonization, and Win Business

​Across sectors, sustainability claims are under more scrutiny than ever. Customers, regulators, investors, and procurement teams are asking for more than broad commitments: they want credible, quantified, and comparable data.

This panel will explore how Product Carbon Footprints, Life Cycle Assessments, and Environmental Product Declarations are helping organizations make defensible claims, support purchasing decisions, meet emerging regulatory expectations, communicate environmental performance with confidence and truly decarbonize products and their supply chains.

​Our panelists represent the range of systems necessary for making environmental data transparency work: from validators, to data sharing systems, to product manufacturers. They will share real-world lessons from a diverse range of product sectors on the shared rules and methods that make sustainability data credible, how to avoid common pitfalls, and how verified environmental information can become a competitive advantage rather than just another reporting requirement.

​Panelists

​Stacy Smedley is the Vice President of Product Impact at Eastern Research Group (ERG), where she leads the development of next-generation data systems, tools and environmental disclosure methods. With over 20 years of experience in sustainable construction and Scope 3 greenhouse gas accounting, Stacy is a premier expert in transforming complex environmental data into defensible, competitive market advantages.

Christian Carron, PE is the founder of Embodied Carbon Solutions, a sustainability consulting firm specializing in Product Carbon Footprint development and supplier engagement for Scope 3 decarbonization. As a licensed environmental engineer with experience in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and five years leading sustainability initiatives at Amazon, Christian developed expertise in developing credible, defensible PCFs through direct supplier collaboration and robust data collection methodologies. He works with major corporations to build comparable, transparent PCFs that inform purchasing decisions and meet emerging regulatory requirements by partnering with suppliers to ensure environmental data is both accurate and actionable.

​Priscila Carrijo is a Business Development Manager at RMP Global, where she works with architects, engineers, DOTs, and contractors to bring recycled-plastic noise barrier and fencing systems to projects that require noise mitigation such as highways, data centers and infrastructure. She is also a co-founder of Greener Concrete, a subsidiary of Zeolite Composites, advancing lower-carbon concrete alternatives. Both companies' products are backed by EPDs, which have helped win business, open doors, and build credibility for both the companies and their products.

​Alexander Crease (Moderator) is Product & Sustainability Engineering Consulting Lead at CarbonGraph, where he helps organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500s use LCAs, Product Carbon Footprints, EPDs, and sustainability data to make better business and product decisions. His work focuses on turning environmental data into defensible proof points, reduction roadmaps, and market advantages. With that proof, he helps companies support credible claims, identify product and supply-chain hotspots, prioritize decarbonization opportunities, and win business with more transparent sustainability data.

​There are a variety of ways to get to the UW Seattle Campus. Explore the options.

Parking: Parking on campus can be difficult, so we recommend taking public transportation or a rideshare when possible. The “U District” stop is the closest light rail station to the Foster School (5-minute walk). Should you need to park on campus, you can find parking information here. Please note that the N01 parking lot (in front of the Burke Museum) is frequently full. The N20/21 lots under Padelford Hall are your next best options, so plan extra time for a short walk.
