Tech Lands #3
Tech Lands started with a simple idea from Alex Myers: people building things in Portugal deserve a place to find each other. International perspectives, curious minds, and conversations with no agenda.
What to expect
🎤 Lightning talks & show-and-tell — Planned or impromptu. Show us something you've been exploring in AI, tech, or anything adjacent. No slides required — just bring a laptop if you want the big screen.
🗣️ Open discussion — Tech Lands is still evolving. What events, formats, and topics would make you show up every time?
🍻 Networking — Plenty of time to meet people and let conversations go wherever they go.
Who's it for?
AI-curious to AI-expert, living in Portugal — expats, internationals, everyone in between. If you care about technology and like meeting interesting people, you belong here.
Tentative Agenda:
18:00 Doors open - Grab a drink, say hello, get settled.
Welcome & "What happened in AI" w/ your host Alex.
Big AI themes and news since the last meetup. This is a group conversation, not a lecture — the fun is in the speculation, dialogue, and predictions we make together.
18:30 - 19:45 - Show & Tell/Lightning talks
Pedro Amaral: Will share a few fun personal projects
Discussion: Local LLMs - What they are, and why they're taking off now
Open forum:
What is Jev?
We talk about pDoom, what about pFab?
The future of agent interfaces
Why (AI) Agents make crypto relevant to everyone
Parent open floor - how are you talking to kids growing up in the age of AI?
19:45 - 20:30 - Networking and drinks, end.
Want to give a talk?
Message Alex here and he'll get you on the list!
You have 5–10 minutes; using the screen (show and tell) is encouraged but not required. Topics can be anything you've built, learned, or are curious about.
