Brain Trust: Asian Theater with CATS & AAPI Heritage Recap
Our June session splits the hour to focus on local narrative ownership in the arts and a collective reflection on our biggest month of the year. We are moving past the high-level metrics to focus on real stories, community connections, and shared momentum.
Here is what we are covering:
Part 1: Contemporary Asian Theater Scene (CATS) Showcase (20 Mins) We are thrilled to host Leianne Lamb, Board Chair of CATS. Based in San Jose, CATS’s mission is to showcase critical Asian American stories through film festivals, theater productions, and newly commissioned works. This past year alone, they supported over 165 Asian American artists and brought their programs to an audience of nearly 3,000. Leianne will share how grassroots arts fuel our broader advocacy and preview their upcoming AAPI festivals.
Part 2: AAPI Heritage Month Debrief (40 Mins) May was a massive, collective lift across our entire ecosystem. As a community of organizations spanning 1,200+ corporate AAPI ERGs and 150+ AAPI non-profit organizations, we want to open up the floor to pull back the curtain on what worked. Come ready to share casually:
What events, panels, or collaborations truly moved the needle for your organization?
What wins (or learning moments) did you experience?
How can we stay connected to support, share, and uplift each other’s initiatives through the rest of 2026?
