About Event

In high-stakes software—especially when dealing with finances and contributions—"trust me" isn't a strategy. In Session 5 of the Sprint26 series, we dive into SWEBOK Chapter 5: Software Testing.

We’re shifting the perspective: Testing isn't a final chore; it’s a fundamental design tool. We’ll explore the Test-Driven Development (TDD) cycle and the critical levels of testing required to build resilient systems. In this session, we specifically look at testing through a fintech lens, where accuracy and security are non-negotiable.

What we’ll cover:

  • The Testing Philosophy: Why tests make you a faster, bolder developer.

  • Test Levels: Navigating the pyramid—Unit, Integration, and End-to-End (E2E).

  • The TDD Cycle: Mastering the "Red-Green-Refactor" rhythm.

  • Fintech Context: Identifying "mission-critical" logic and how to safeguard it.

The Codelab: We’re putting the Zetu modules to the ultimate test. In this hands-on workshop, you will:

  • Build the Auth and Groups services test-first, turning failing suites green.

  • Master Mocking: Testing logic without the overhead of a database.

  • Run Integration Tests for endpoints using Supertest.

  • Automate Confidence: Set up a CI Pipeline to run your tests on every push.
