​What happens when a 105-year-old Tulsa organization uses AI to tackle one of our community’s newest education challenges?

​When one of northeast Oklahoma’s largest adult education providers closed, thousands of adults pursuing a GED or high school equivalency faced a new barrier to completing their education.

​Family & Children’s Services (FCS) saw an opportunity to respond and innovate.

​With a recently awarded $900,000 Adult Education & Family Literacy Act grant, FCS is expanding its adult education work across Tulsa, Mayes, Muskogee, and Rogers counties. And technology is becoming part of the solution.

​Join presenter Nick Simonini, Senior IT Analyst for an interactive virtual Tulsa Tech Week session exploring an AI-powered GED application he ideated and helped create to support FCS's education team and its Adult Education program in partnership with Tulsa Tech.

​We'll explore how the application came together, the problem it was designed to solve, and what FCS is learning about using emerging technology to expand access to education and opportunity.
