Sydney: Pause at the AI Leadership Summit 2026

​The AI Leadership Summit 2026 runs 27-28 October at the International Convention Centre. We're gauging interest for an event outside it.

​AI companies are competing to build something smarter than us. They also say they can't yet control it. Their tools have already decided to hack multiple organisations, including Medicare. We'll be outside, talking to delegates, passers-by and the media.

​Come to either or both:

• ​27 Oct 08:30-09:00 as summit attendees walk in

• ​27 Oct 11:30-13:00 to catch the lunch crowd (main event)

​Ideas for the day (depends on getting relevant permits):

• ​A table where we help people write to their MP on the spot

• ​A public survey on what Australians think AI researchers believe about extinction risk

• ​Mock AI race? Catastrophic risk karaoke? Chalk drawings?

• ​Let us know if you have more ideas!

​An hour with no prep is a genuinely useful contribution. Join whichever activities appeal.

​We'll head to a nearby cafe once we pack up, for anyone who wants to stay on.
