V11 Seminar Series | The Macroeconomics of AI
What will the economy look like under strong AI?
Will it push the value of labor to zero causing mass unemployment and wage loss? Will the economy simply chug along at 2% annual growth, bottlenecked by non-automatable sectors of the economy? Or will it takeoff, powered by an ever-increasing cycle of AI-enabled research and physical AI, radically reshaping the world and the human experience?
If any of those questions keep you up at night, this seminar is for you.
We tackle these questions through the lens of Nobel Prize winning research on automation, wage dynamics, and economic growth -- using technical frameworks and math rather than ideology and vibes to understand what transformative AI will actually do to our world.
The seminar will include a 45 minute talk followed by 15–30 minutes of open Q&A and discussion. Venue TBA.
