Tending to Your Roots
Tending to Your Roots is a guided you-pick floral experience grounded in healing, presence, and the language flowers have carried for generations.
We'll begin with Nura Behgoman, founder of Pomegranate and Posy, guiding us through the language of flowers, from new beginnings to tenderness, resilience, and hope.
Sharon Hays, owner of the farm, will share more on the land and the work behind it.
And with mindfulness and psychoeducation woven throughout the afternoon by Noor Alwani, PhD and Shereen Ayoubi, PsyD, you'll be invited to set an intention before stepping into the fields and choosing the flowers that speak to it.
Then, we pick.
Slowly, instinctively, with muddy shoes and our hands among the stems.
We'll gather again to hand-wrap what we've found into a bouquet, reflect, and turn a handful of flowers into something deeply personal, shaped not only by color and form, but by what you wanted to carry home with you.
We want this afternoon to feel restorative. You'll be welcomed with refreshments, small bites, and mocktails by Sukar Mocktails to sip on.
A few hours spent outside, learning, making, reflecting, and tending to what matters.
What's included: guided flower picking, psychoeducation & mindfulness session, hand-wrapped bouquet you take home, refreshments & light bites

Meet the Facilitators
Nura Behgoman is the Founder of Pomegranate and Posy, a floral design studio curating seasonal arrangements as a form of art with an understanding that the earth is an amanah; something we have been entrusted with, and must take care of. P&P's offerings include workshops and florals for intimate events and gatherings.
Sharon Hayes is the Founder of Sweet Piedmont Flower Farm, a sustainable cut flower farm nestled within the hills of Waterford, VA. With a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west and the land set apart from traditional residential developments, the farm is a sort of oasis from the modern distractions and hustle of life. It is their hope that visitors are enlivened and refreshed by the natural beauty of this place. And for those who receive their flowers, they hope every bloom and branch serves as an invitation into joy and the beauty of every harvest season.
