Houston x SheBuilds on Lovable for International Women's Day
Most days, ideas stay in your notes app. Let’s change that.
This International Women’s Day is a building day. As part of Lovable’s global SheBuilds, we’re hosting a local Houston meetup where you’ll show up with an idea and leave with a real, working AI‑powered app. Never shipped anything before or touched code? Perfect. That’s the point.
On March 8, Lovable is completely free for 24 hours, powered by Anthropic, so you can build without worrying about usage. Participants also get $100 in free Anthropic API credits and $250 in Stripe fee credits to keep going after the event.
We’ll be gathering at Eden Plant Co., a cozy coffee shop and plant store with lush, tropical vibes in Near Northside. If you knew them from their EaDo days, this is their new home. There’ll be wifi, tables, and plenty of green energy. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase from the cafe while you build.
By the end of the event, you’ll have:
A simple but real product you can demo
New friends building alongside you
Hands‑on experience using Lovable (with free credits) to turn ideas into something people can actually click
Who should come
If you’ve got an idea you’ve been sitting on, if you’ve ever thought “I could never build that,” or if you just want to spend International Women’s Day doing something that feels genuinely empowering, this is for you. All levels welcome, especially total beginners and curious first time builders, and all genders are welcome as long as you’re here to support the mission.
What to bring
Bring your laptop, your half‑baked ideas, and yourself. That’s it.
Why we’re doing this
The tools to build with AI exist right now, and they’re not just for engineers and insiders. On International Women’s Day, we want women and underrepresented builders in Houston to see that these tools are for them too, and to walk out with proof in their hands.
