The Activation Gap: Why Internationals Lose 6–18 Months, and How to Fix It
Many internationals spend months trying to find their place in the Netherlands. Companies and universities also struggle to help new students or hires settle, contribute, and feel confident.
This delay is what we call the Activation Gap.
In this online roundtable, we’ll talk about:
what this gap looks like in real life
why it happens
what internationals need
what companies need
what universities need
and what small steps could help everyone move faster from “transition” to “contribution”
We’ll start with a short introduction from Flux Forward, and then open the floor for discussion.
This session is meant for honest stories, shared experiences, and simple ideas that can actually help.
If you’re joining us, think about these questions:
What are your experiences and challenges?
What’s missing in the current system?
What ideas or small actions could make a difference?
