INSPIRE – How Robots Become Soft, Adaptive, and Intelligent
Location: ETH HG D3.2
Hosted by Prof. Dr. Robert Katzschmann x ETH Robotics Club
Are you curious about how robots can safely interact with the real world?
Join us for an INSPIRE talk with Prof. Dr. Robert Katzschmann, professor at ETH Zurich and a leading researcher in soft robotics and bio-inspired systems. His work explores how robots can become flexible, adaptive, and intelligent by combining soft materials, advanced control, and inspiration from nature.
In this session, Prof. Dr. Robert Katzschmann will share insights from his research on soft robotic fish, wearable and biohybrid systems, and how machines can sense, move, and manipulate objects in complex environments - from underwater to medical applications. He will also touch on how intelligent controllers and learning techniques enable robots to adapt dynamically to the world around them.
This 1-hour event offers a unique opportunity to explore the future of robotics at the intersection of engineering, biology, and real-world applications.
Who should join:
Students, researchers, and anyone interested in robotics.
