When Anthropic released Mythos, it made something clear: AI has fundamentally changed the game. Zero-days that once took months to discover and weaponize can now be exploited at machine speed, meaning far more people can operate at a level that used to be reserved for highly resourced teams.
The industry response still leans heavily on shifting left, as if finding issues earlier will solve a problem that is accelerating on the other end. At the same time, NIST recently announced it will only enrich a subset of new vulnerabilities, leaving teams with less complete data while facing higher volumes and more pressure to determine what actually matters.
The traditional CVE-centric model has good intentions and reduces risk on paper, but attacks do not happen on paper. In a post-Mythos world, security needs to be not only faster, but grounded in the reality of each environment. A CVSS score of 10 is a useful signal, but the real questions are simpler: what can be attacked in my environment right now, and how do I stop it?
Join Oligo Security's Field CTO, Mic McCully and Empirical Security's CEO and Co-Founder, Ed Bellis for NoBull Shift, where we will talk about what comes next. We will cover why current security models are starting to crack and how prioritization and protection need to evolve in a world where traditional patching cycles no longer scale. For those who join the presentation, you will receive local NoBull Gift Card to buy your own pair of walking shoes!
