A Litany of Elsewhere Geographies: a generative writing workshop
There is a sense of pervasive hesitation amongst us all to imagine, really imagine, that a different way of being and living is possible, and possible within our shared spacetimes. This workshop will offer a space to hone our attention to the ways we can (or already are) create (creating) elsewheres, meanwhiles, in our present.
Liberation as a prefigurative state of being. Liberation in the present tense. We'll utilize poetry as a cartographic device into these questions and imaginations, to inquire, interrogate, indict our present realities towards constructing elsewheres for us all to inhabit, in equality and in vitality.
Participants will be free to generate writing in any genre format and let the words on the page hold material essence and capacity to translate into the praxis of quotidian livings.
This workshop is facilitated by Shraddha Shah, PhD, who is teaching the 6-week course Writing Elsewhere Geographies, as part of our Fall Semester.
