Part of Zen Lab—a community exploring the intersection of Zen, technology, and working life in Silicon Valley.

This month, Rev. William Thomas will lead the discussion. He is a Sōtō Zen priest, founder of Zen Lab, and researcher exploring the dialogue between contemplative practice and psychology. His work explores how Zen can support leadership, innovation, and well-being in Silicon Valley’s technology workplace.

William is also the founder of the Dharma Bridge Project, an international interdisciplinary research initiative exploring the intersection of Buddhist contemplative traditions, psychology, and neuroscience.

Drawing on more than a decade of Zen practice, his training under Les Kaye, a renowned Sōtō Zen teacher, former IBM executive, and pioneer of bringing Zen into Silicon Valley’s professional culture, William will explore how Zen can inform the future of AI and what it means to build technology in service of human flourishing.

The evening includes:

🧘 A 10-minute silent meditation

🎤 A talk exploring the evening’s theme

💬 An open group discussion

🍵 Tea, snacks, and informal conversation
