Creating the Physical Commons - How to design Cultural Centres
In line with the TY-CO Project on social sustainability, cultural participation and reclaiming underused urban spaces, this event explores how abandoned or underutilised buildings can be collectively reimagined as inclusive cultural and social hubs.
Facilitated by João Ribeiro (Shifter / LisboaParaPessoas) the event will explore different types of cultural organisation structure developing the conversation of how we can build 3rd spaces in today's climate. Beginning with a contextual presentation from some of the Arroz Estudios board members, we will analyse the current opportunities in the area against funding and financial models then participate in a group design session to develop a communal methodology.
During the session we'll also hear the perspectives & practises from representatives from other cultural leaders around Lisbon & gentrification expert from Universidade de Lisboa, Luis Mendes.
